Doimukh, Oct 3: The Rajiv Gandhi University fraternity held a farewell programme on Thursday to honour Prof. Saket Kushwaha, the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the university who had been an integral part of the organization for the last six years. 
In a moving address to the gathering, Prof. Kushwaha, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support throughout his tenure and urged all to continue to stand together with the spirit of collaboration and dedication. Earlier, he inaugurated the new building for the Department of Zoology in presence of the officers, teachers and students of the department.
The Registrar of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Dr. N.T.Rikam in his speech said that the RGU as a community proudly acknowledges and records Prof. Saket Kushwaha’s exceptional leadership and visionary approach as Vice Chancellor. His transformative guidance has elevated RGU to new heights, significantly enhancing its academic excellence and expanding its infrastructure and facilities. Under his stewardship, the university has achieved remarkable progress in research, innovation, collaborative networks, outreach, and community engagement. During his tenure as Vice Chancellor (2018-2024), the university has witnessed remarkable growth in student enrollment and progression, alongside mission-driven faculty recruitment and development. Prof. Kushwaha has fostered a dynamic work culture and created a welcoming, secure campus environment. His strategic initiatives have significantly bolstered the university's reputation through collaboration and active representation at national and international forums.
Prof. Otem Padung, Finance Officer and Organising Chairman of the farewell programme, in his speech highlighted the remarkable achievements of the departing Vice Chancellor.
The senior most professor of RGU Prof. S.K. Nayak stated that, under his dynamic leadership, the number of departments at RGU has more than doubled, greatly enhancing academic offerings and campus development.
