Itanagar, Sep 4: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the State and the esteemed members of the teaching community on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, which marks the birth anniversary of one of India's most distinguished sons and former President, Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He expressed hope that the day will inspire those in the noble profession to renew their commitment to imparting knowledge and value-based education.
In his message, the Governor said that Dr. Radhakrishnan was a great philosopher, a humanist, and above all, an exemplary teacher. He was warm-hearted with his colleagues, a paragon of knowledge, a strict disciplinarian, yet always approachable. No matter the position he held, whether as Ambassador, Vice President, or President of the country, he remained a teacher at heart. Teaching was his first love, and those who were fortunate enough to learn under him remember with gratitude his outstanding qualities as an educator, he said.
The Governor said that teachers play a pivotal role in the lives of students and in society at large. With their foresight, knowledge, and experience, they significantly influence the growth, development, and well-being of students, and by extension, the Nation. On this significant day, I urge members of the teaching fraternity to follow the path of righteousness and high morals exemplified by Dr. Radhakrishnan, he said.
May the celebrations of this day inspire us to embrace the ideals and values that Dr. Radhakrishnan practiced, which reflect the best traditions of our ancient Gurukul teachers and have greatly contributed towards ‘Viksit Bharat’, the Governor said in his message.
