Basar, Sep 3: Basar MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi lost her father on September 1 last, who passed away due to prolonged illness.
Minnya Jini, a retired teacher passed away at his residence in Logum Jini, Aalo in West Siang district. Late Jini was a figure of immense respect and admiration, known for his dedication, sincerity, and compassion as an educator. Appointed as a Government School teacher in October 1969, his career spanned several decades, during which he took on numerous teaching roles and assignments, leaving a lasting impact on his students and the broader community. His service continued until his retirement in April 2013.
Born on the 20th of April, 1953, in Jini Moko village, Minnya Jini was the son of late Dukmin Jini and late Mare Naso Jini. He is survived by his wife, Kame Ete Jini, and eight children, with Nyabi Jini Dirchi, the current MLA of Leparada, being the eldest among them.
The passing of Minnya Jini has left a deep void in the hearts of many, with people from various walks of life paying their respects. The Galo Welfare Society (GWS) expressed profound sorrow at his demise. Marnya Ete, IAS (Retd.), President of the GWS, conveyed the society's collective grief and highlighted the remarkable legacy of Late Jini. On behalf of the GWS, Secretary General Nyadar Loya and Secretary of Education Ige Dirchi offered floral tributes to honour the departed soul.
Smti Dobom Jini, wife of Adv Kento Jini, Minister Sports and Youth Affairs also attended the funeral, further underscoring the community's shared grief. The Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Leparada District were also present, paying their respects and offering condolences to the bereaved family.
Gojum Basar and D Tojo Basar represented the Senior Citizens of Leparada District in paying their respects, further underlining the significant impact late Jini had on the community. His passing is not only a loss to his family but to all who had the privilege of knowing him, they opined.
