Visakhapatnam, Aug 4: The 7th National Cadet Kyorugi & Poomsae Taekwondo Championship, held from August 2 to 4, concluded on a high note with Team Arunachal Pradesh making a significant mark. Organized by the Andhra Pradesh Taekwondo Association under the aegis of the Taekwondo Federation of India and sponsored by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the event saw participation from athletes across the country.
Team Arunachal Pradesh displayed outstanding performance, winning a total of 8 medals: 5 Gold and 3 Silver. This achievement highlights the team's dedication and skill in Taekwondo.
Ms. Rake Sumpa won Gold in Kyorugi (37kg - 51kg), demonstrating exceptional prowess in her weight category. Similarly, Mr. Tarh Nikam secured Gold in Kyorugi (39kg - 53kg), adding to the team's impressive medal tally. In the Poomsae categories, Ms. Ter Dimin won Gold in Girls Individual Poomsae, showcasing her technical excellence. The Mixed Pair Poomsae event saw Ms. Minam Tamuk and Mr. Sangay Tsering earn Gold, while the Female Group Poomsae team, comprising Ms. Ter Dimin, Ms. Minam Tamuk, and Nowhai Wangsu, also took home Gold.
In addition to the Gold medals, Team Arunachal Pradesh secured 3 Silver medals. Mr. Dolo Rassang won Silver in Kyorugi (Under-48kg), demonstrating strong competitive spirit. Mr. Tango Tali earned Silver in Male Individual Poomsae, and the Boys Group Poomsae team, consisting of Mr. Tango Tali, Mr. Sangay Tsering, and Mr. Kapil Ete, also won Silver.
Likha Robin, General Secretary of the Arunachal Taekwondo Association, congratulated all the players and coaches for their outstanding performances.
