Itanagar, July 20: Achieving a major milestone, Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh Football Association have been jointly awarded by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) under special awards category at the AIFF Awards 2024 held Friday in New Delhi. 
This special award was given in recognition of successfully organising the 77th Santosh Trophy 2023-24 at Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh. Kipa Ajay, Honorary Secretary, APFA accepted the award from N.A Haris, Vice President, AIFF.
"This award is testament of our team work and sincerity. Government of Arunachal Pradesh and APFA  together pulled off a huge task of hosting the prestigious Santosh Trophy successfully. We want to thank Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Government of Arunachal Pradesh and  its Departments especially the Department of Sports, Papum Pare District Administration, for their constant support and to everyone who was involved in this venture. It is because of that we could host one of the best National Football Championships and achieve this honour,” the APFA stated in its press release.
Final Round of 77th Santosh Trophy 2023-24 was hosted by the APFA in Yupia in February-March earlier this year.
