ITANAGAR, Sep 8: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has raised concern over the silence of Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao on recent reports of Chinese incursion into Indian territory in Anjaw District.
AAPSU Finance Secretary, Byabang Hapo Dui, while addressing the media, questioned the silence of the Union Minister on the matter, despite the gravity of the situation. "In the past MP Tapir Gao had raised the issue of Chinese incursions in areas along the McMahon Line multiple times, yet no concrete action has been taken by the central government,” he said.
According to reports from local villagers in Anjaw, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has intruded into the Kapapu area, which is a part of Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh. The AAPSU condemned this repeated incursion, describing it as an intolerable expansionist move by the PLA.
Dui urged both the central and state governments to act decisively by forming a committee to examine the issue on the ground, and he emphasized the need for AAPSU's inclusion in such a committee. He also called upon all MPs from Arunachal Pradesh to bring this matter to the attention of the central government with urgency.
"The central and state governments must take immediate steps to prevent further incursions and safeguard our territory," Dui added.
