Naharlagun, May 11: International Nurses Day was celebrated today at the New Academic Building, Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS), Naharlagun, in a befitting manner. The theme for this year's celebration is 'The Economic Power of Care'. Every 12 May is marked as International Nurses Day in remembrance of Florence Nightingale English social reformer and founder of modern nursing. However, this year TRIHMS is celebrating the day on 11 May.
On this occasion, 16 Nursing Officers, MTS and Sanitary Workers were awarded with appreciation letters for their selfless and outstanding work during their service. As part of the celebration various colourful cultural programs were also presented.
Dr. Moji Jini, Director, TRIHMS and Dr. Dukhum Raina, CMS, TRIHMS graced the celebration as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Dr. Wangju Sumnyam, DMS, TRIHMS and Mrs. Kijum Karga, DDN, DHS, along with host of other dignitaries also attended the programme.
