ITANAGAR, Feb 25:

Altogether 100 trainees from across the state were awarded certificates in different trades by Director of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Subu Tabin, and Deputy Director, IPR, Denhang Bosai,  on completion of a short-term skill development training on February 22 last at a glittering valedictory function held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Polytechnic College, Itanagar. The programme held under the aegis of Governor's skill development training for unemployed youth was jointly conducted by NGO GPTI and the department of skill development, Itanagar.

In his key-note address, Tabin underscored the importance of skill development for livelihood of the educated youth of the state. ‘Any skill development training would help in employment generation,’ he said and asked the trainees to create awareness on various livelihood schemes available and trainings being conducted from time to time to help the youths acquire skill in different trades that would help them in securing jobs both under government and  also private establishments.

Terming skilled and trained youths as assets to society and the nation, Denhang Bosai added that in the absence of any industry worth its name, the educated youth of the state were totally dependent on government jobs which are hard to come by.

He passionately appealed the youths to take up skill development training that can help them stand on their own feet. He appreciated the skill development department and the GPTI for making an honest effort to equip the educated youths through skill development training.In her speech, chairperson GPTI, Topu Basar Ete dwelt on the journey of GPTI since its inception. The trainees also shared their views and experiences.
